Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci - Gems of Northern Serbia

The tour starts with 1,5 hour of pleasant highway ride to Vojvodina region, and it’s capital Novi Sad. We’ll walk through the turbulent history of the city, which was part of Austro-Hungarian empire until 1918, what makes it rather different from Belgrade, more European and forward in all means. Then we will visit dominant Petrovaradin fortress, the second largest fortress in Europe, whose size shows the greatness of fear from the Ottoman empire. After some fortress climbing and much history, we'll have a lunch break in traditional restaurant with delicious specialties from Vojvodina region. Then we will visit slopes of Fruška Gora mountain and Sremski Karlovci, another historical town, which was the cultural and political capital of Serbs in Austria in the 18th and 19th century. A break for some wine tasting, since the best wine in Serbia (Bermet) is produced right here. The tour will end at 18.00 hours in Belgrade.
